SOLD
Description
Offered here is a rare IWC Aquatimer, circa 1970s, bearing the reference 1812. The “two crown” waterproof “EPSA” cases were first developed by Enicar in the early 1960s, and the cases were used by a variety of brands, including IWC. These watches were produced over three references with a few different dial variations, with the black dial variants being the most popular. This IWC Aquatimer is in fantastic vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with normal wear through the years. The dial and original tritium lume are in mint condition, with no wear or loss, and aged to a lovely yellow color. Further, the watch is accompanied by an Extract of the IWC Archives, confirming production of the watch, and its original sale in 1976 in Frankfurt, Germany.
