SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a rare Heuer “Skipper” from the Autavia line. This example is the very first reference (Ref. 1564, engraved 1163V between the lugs) of the Skippers that transitioned from manual-wind to automatic, using Heuer’s Calibre 15 movement. These watches were named the Skipper, as they are used to time yacht races, with a 15-minute countdown register on the right-hand side of the dial. This Skipper is in great vintage condition. The case is unpolished and sharp. The dial is devoid of any flaws, in mint condition. The original lume is still present in both dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color. The bezel insert was substituted for a black insert at some point in the past.
