SOLD
Description
Offered here is an excellent example of a Heuer Autavia, circa 1970s, nicknamed after the “Jo Siffert” model, aptly named “Siffert colors”, as it shares a similar color-scheme as the automatic model that was worn by the famous race car driver in the 1970s. For more information on these Siffert-Colors manual-wind Autavias, visit On The Dash by clicking here.
This Autavia has been exceptionally well preserved. The case is unpolished, showing the original case sunburst finish, and beveled egdes. The dial is flawless, with no marks, scratches, etc. The original tritium lume is still present in both hands and dial, aging to a golden yellow. The serial and reference numbers are cleary visible between the lugs (serial 19xxxx).
The watch comes fitted on what appears to be its original Corfam racing strap, with original and period-correct Heuer steel buckle.
