SOLD
Description
Offered here is a very rare and special Gubelin chronograph, produced circa 1940-1950s. Gubelin is one of the most famous retailers of wristwatches, based out of Switzerland, and founded in 1854, similar to Tiffany & Co. in the United States, or Serpico Y Laino out of Venezuela. Most Gubelin-signed or produced watches are only signed on the dial; this watch is triple-signed, with a Valjoux 71 movement signed Gubelin, and a “clamsell” Brevet case also signed Gubelin inside.
This Gubelin chronograph is in great vintage condition, retaining a strong and thick case, lightly polished, and a lovely dial, showing minimal wear over the years. A true novelty, these watches do not come up for sale often – or ever – and it is not one to be missed!
