SOLD
Description
Offered here is a rare and unique Clebar chronograph, circa 1940s, housed in a “clamshell” case, the first waterproof chronograph case patented by Gallet. These cases are composed of 3 separate parts, and held together via four screws in the back of the case. This watch, manufactured by Clebar, is fitted with a breathtaking and complex sector and snail dial.
This Clebar chronograph is in great condition. The case does not show signs of overpolishing, if much at all. The dial is in great condition, with only minor aging, most noticeably around the edge of the dial (minor discoloration). The original lume is still present on the dial; the hands have been professionally redone to match the lume color of the dial.
