Breitling Pink-Patina Chronomat

Description
The Breitling Chronomat is one of Breitling’s most storied and popular chronographs, featuring a rotating slide-rule that was patented in 1941 during WWII. There is a red 0 – 100 scale near the middle of the dial which can be used for reading 1/100ths of a minute which facilitates computations using the slide-rule. The Swiss cross and the number 217012 on the dial refer to the Swiss government patent that was granted in 1940.
The example offered here today, circa 1940s, is a downright beautiful example. The original dial has aged to a striking pink color. The lume in the hands and on the dial is original and fully in-tact. The case is in great condition and appears unpolished. The caseback does have an engraving, possibly of someone who served in the army and was given this watch.
