SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a rare and early Breitling chronograph, housed in a “clamshell” case. The clamshell case was patented by Gallet, and used by a variety of brands, designed as the first waterproof chronograph, with a 3-piece case design. This Breitling dates to the 1940s, and features a beautiful 3-color dial.
The condition of this Breitling chronograph is excellent. The case does not show signs of overpolishing, or much at all. The dial is in great condition for its age, only showing very minor spotting, consistent with its age. The lume in both hands and dial are still present, however, the hands have likely been redone at some point in the past.
