SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is an extremely rare Berthoud Geneve chronograph, circa late 1930s. Berthoud Geneve is most notably known for their connection to Universal Geneve (Louis Eduoard Berthoud, a notable watchmaker, worked for UG while also manufacturing his own watches). This example features an incredible and uncommon gilt dial with Breguet numerals. Often housed in chromed cases, this one was produced in stainless steel, and these watches were likely marketed as the “budget” UG.
This example of an early Berthoud Geneve chronograph is in great vintage condition. The case remarkably remains unpolished and sharp. The dial is in good condition, still remaining glossy, with minimal wear to the surface of the dial.
