Description
Montres Tudor SA has designed, manufactured and marketed Tudor watches since March of 1946. Rolex founder Hans Wildorf created Tudor to create a product for authorized Rolex dealers at a cheaper price than Rolex, while still offering the same quality product as a Rolex.
This is a very early example of a Tudor Oyster Prince watch. It dates to the 1940s, and is in very nice vintage condition. The original dial has some amazing patina, and the original hands and hour markers maintain their original lume. The case appears untouched.
Similar in size and shape to the Rolex Bubbleback, which has seen a recent boom amongst collectors, these pieces offer a similar appeal in terms of collectability, and wear large on the wrist due to their larger size (34mm versus the 32mm of the Bubblebacks).
