Tudor "Homeplate" Oysterdate

Tudor “Homeplate” Oysterdate

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a rare and popular Tudor Oysterdate chronograph, nicknamed the “Homeplate”, due to its resemblance to an American baseball field layout.  The present example dates to 1971, which was the very first year of production for this reference (Ref. 7032).  This Tudor “Homeplate” is in great condition.  The case is thick and even, with original beveled edges clearly visible, possibly lightly polished in the past, or simply worn over time.  The dial is devoid of any flaws, marks, or chips, and is beautiful. The original tritium lume is present on all plots of the dial, aged to a cream yellow color; the hands appear to have been relumed a long time ago, and while they match in color to the dial, they glow briefly when exposed to a UV light.

The watch comes fitted on its original Tudor folded-link 7836 bracelet, with 358B endlinks, and shows moderate wear/stretch.
