Rolex “6263 18kt” Daytona

Offered here is a lovely  example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6263, circa 1987 (R-serial), produced in 18kt Yellow Gold.  During this era, very few Daytonas were produced in gold, most being fitted in a steel case. In fact, allegedly less than 10% of the 24,000 of 6263 and 6265 watches for the 20 year period of their production run were made in gold.  This example is outfitted with the more desirable black dial.

The condition of this Daytona is great. The case has been lightly polished in the past, with thick and even lugs. The dial is in beautiful condition, with virtually no wear or damage. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, and in good condition, aged to a nice yellow color, with minor loss to the 9 o’clock plot. The original bakelite bezel shows no cracks.

Further, the watch comes fitted on a Rolex Swiss Rivet 7205 band, with 57 endlinks.  The bracelet has 11 links and virtually no stretch.
