SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a very well-preserved and attractive “meters first” Rolex Submariner Ref. 5513, circa 1968 (2.2m serial). The “meters first” dials were the very first Rolex Submariner models to feature a “matte” dial, and are considered transitional from gilt to matte, with a limited production of around 3-4 years.
This Rolex Submariner is in great vintage condition. The case was lightly polished in the past, but with original beveled edges, and showing light wear from use over the years. The dial is flawless, with no chips, scratches, tool marks, etc. The original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, aged to a vibrant yellow/pumpkin color. The original fat font bezel insert in great condition with virtually no wear, overall extremely well-preserved.
The watch is fitted on a Rolex Oyster folded-link 9315 bracelet with 280 endlinks, and has 12 full links with light stretch, overall well-preserved.
