ZRC “Tropical Series 2” Grand Fonds

Description

Up for grabs is a cult-classic and favorite amongst die-hard vintage dive fans, the French-made ZRC Grand Fonds.  These watches were produced in the mid-1960s after ZRC was awarded a contract with Marine Nationale to produce watches for the French Navy.  The Grand Fonds was engineered for this purpose, and constructed with a monobloc case (for better durability during dives) and a crown positioned at 6 o’clock.  This particular ZRC Grand Fonds is a second series model, and is in incredible vintage condition.  The case remains unpolished and sharp.  Likewise, the dial is perfect with no damage, and has aged to a lovely caramel brown tropical color.  Further, the watch retains its original tritium lume on both dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color.  Finally, the watch remains on its original steel stretch bracelet.
