Description
Offered here is certainly one of the rarest watches we have ever had the pleasure to offer for sale – a Vacheron Constantin cushion-shaped chronograph, produced in 1939 in a total of 3 pieces, housed in 18kt yellow gold, and bearing the reference 4111. This historically important Vacheron is the only one of the three produced with a pulsations sector dial, and of the three produced, the last to appear in auction was with a refinished dial in 2007, selling for approximately $170,000, which was a lot of money at the time for a watch! The third example was sold at some point by Davide Parmigiani. This watch comes with a full extract book from Vacheron Constantin.
The condition of this important Vacheron Constantin chronograph is honest and original, overall well-preserved. The solid gold case appears unpolished with no major wear. The dial shows aging and wear throughout, most noticeably around the edges of the dial.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime watch to own a piece of Vacheron history. As stated, only three pieces were ever produced in this reference, so finding another opportunity to purchase one may never come!
