Universal Geneve Two-Tone Triple-Date

SOLD

Description

This is a Universal Geneve Triple Date from the 1940s. This example is outfitted with a two-tone dial, luminous markers, and luminous leaf hands. Most of these triple-dates were non-lume, so to find a lume example is desirable.

The thing that stands out the most on this watch is the large, lapped lugs, which gives the watch a beefy appearance. Inside, the watch is outfitted with a UG Cal. 291, and is able to display the day of the week, the date, and the month.

Good examples of these watches are few and far between – most of them were unfortunately refinished, ruining the originality of the dial. The date changing pushers on the side of the case are possibly a replacement, but changing the dates is very easy with them. This is a wonderful example in excellent vintage condition.
