Description
Chronographs are a relatively common complication in the world of horology, though it goes without saying that theyÕre wildly functional, and useful in everyday life. Now, as with just about any watch, the details of a chronograph can truly Òmake it or break itÓ, so to speak, so every design element is crucial, and deserves attention. What we have here, is yet another extraordinary piece from the one and only Universal Geneve, and they really knocked it out of the park with this one.
This example makes use of their revered Cal. 281 movement, and it looks damn good while doing so. Some of our favorite touches on the piece include the step-case, and the crisp, steel, leaf-alpha hands, contrasted with the blued subdial and sweep hands. Put all these together, and youÕve got one hell of a great watch, thatÕll surely be a constant source of enjoyment, for countless years to come.
This Compax, Reference 22295-1, circa 1954, is in ridiculously mint condition. The case appears unpolished, and the dial is untouched. With the rising desirability for good Universal Geneve pieces, this example would be a great addition to new and longer-tenured collectors alike.
