Do you love the Universal Geneve “Nina Rindt”? How about the Rolex Daytona 6241 “Paul Newman”? Us too. Unfortunately, for better or worse, those pieces tend to command high price tags. Enter – what we dub the “Nina Rindt, Jr.”
Before Universal Geneve closed their doors, they made some pretty neat modern pieces, and this is one of them. Fitted with a sunburst silver “panda” dial, and a black bakelite-style tachymeter bezel, this watch draws tons of comparisons to the Nina and 6241 Paul Newman. It even has the applied UG logo – a neat callback to the old days of Universal Geneve and the early renditions of the Nina.
With an in-house movement based off of the Lemania 1873, this watch is a workhorse. It is ready to meet the demands of modern wear, while still giving off that “vintage cool” look. As a bonus, this one comes totally complete – the original outer box, inner box, guarantee booklet, strap and deployment buckle.
