Racine Royale Diver

Description

When Gallet expanded their distribution network to the United States, they did it with the help of Jules Racine – a cousin of the Gallet brothers that conveniently lived in the US. They would go on to sell watches under the brand names Racine, Gallet by Racine, and Racine Royale – just like we see on this rare vintage diver.

The original black dial on this example is in extremely clean shape, with evenly aged, matching lume on both the hands and indices. At 36mm across, the stainless steel case sits nicely on the wrist, and has a decent presence thanks to the rotating bezel. These watches are not common, and this one happens to be in beautiful condition.
