Description
Offered here is an early and special Rolex Date, reference 1500, circa 1968. This particular Rolex Date was fitted with a black, “gilt” dial, and has aged to a gorgeous tropical brown color. The watch itself is in great vintage condition. The case was likely lightly polished in the past, but retaining thick and even lugs; the caseback shows an engraving “Bill Burke” (can be removed upon request). Further, the dial is stunning – retaining its factory mirror-gloss appearance, and showing a striking brown color-change. Likewise, the watch retains its original tritium lume on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow. The watch comes fitted on its original Rolex Swiss rivet 7206 bracelet with 57 endlinks, dated to 1969, and has 13 full links, well preserved with light stretch.
