Rolex “Maxi MK1” Submariner

Description

Up for grabs is a stunning example of a Rolex Submariner, Reference 5513, circa 1978 (5.2m serial).  This example features a very desirable 1st execution (MK1) “Maxi” dial, denoting the larger size of the lume plots, as compared to the Submariner’s predecessors.

This Rolex Submariner is in great vintage condition.  The case appears unpolished (albeit worn from use), retaining thick and even lugs, with original bevels visible.  The dial is immaculate, with no chips, scratches, or flaws. The original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a lovely vibrant yellow color.  The MK3 bezel insert is period correct to this reference, and is in good condition, with no major wear.

The watch comes equipped with a flip-lock 93150 bracelet with 580 endlinks, and is in good condition with 12 full links with light stretch.
