SOLD
Description
Up for grabs is a Rolex Daytona, circa 2001, which was the very first year that Rolex introduced the reference 116520, transitional from the reference 16520. This reference of Daytona was the very first in-house automatic chronograph movement, the Caliber 4130, produced by Rolex, following the success of their Zenith-produced Caliber 4030 movement Daytonas. Some of these early 116520s with originally white dials have aged to a cream color, giving them the nickname of the “panna” Daytonas.
This Rolex Daytona is in nice vintage condition. The case does not show any obvious signs of polishing, with normal wear from use, and retaining thick and even lugs. The dial is flawless, aged to a nice cream color. The watch comes on its original Rolex Swiss 78490 bracelet, and has 10 full links with no stretch.
