SOLD
Description
Offered here is an exceptional example of Rolex Daytona, reference 6263, circa 1974, made for the Peruvian Air Force. The Peruvian Air Force (Fuerza Aerea del Perú) ordered Daytonas throughout the 1960s and 1970s, stamped “FUERZA AEREA DEL PERÚ” (or FAP for short) around the edge on the caseback (and matching serial stamped on the inside of the caseback). This Daytona features a lovely “reverse panda” and “Sigma” dial, only produced for a very short window in the mid-1970s.
This Daytona is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with thick and even lugs. The dial is in beautiful condition, with no wear or damage. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color. The original bakelite bezel shows no cracks or wear.
The watch comes equipped on a Rolex Swiss folded-link 78350/19 bracelet with 571 endlinks, and has 11 full links with no stretch.
