Rolex "18038" Day-Date

SOLD

Rolex “18038” Day-Date

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a Rolex Day-Date, reference 18038, which was transitional from the Reference 1803, introducing the “single quick-set” function, which allows the owner to quickly just the date via the crown.  This example dates to 1979, and is fitted with a champagne dial.  The watch itself is in great vintage condition.  The case shows light signs of polishing, overall very well-preserved with thick and even lugs.  The dial is immaculate, with no flaws; likewise, the watch retains its original tritium lume in both hands and dial, with no loss, and aged to a nice yellow color.  This Day-Date is fitted on its original Rolex Swiss “hidden clasp” presidential bracelet, with light stretch, and has 4 removable screws, fitting an approximate 7.25″ wrist.
