Description
Offered here is a Rolex GMT-Master, Ref. 16758, in 18kt Yellow Gold, circa 1987. The Reference 16758 is transitional from the Reference 1675, upgraded with a sapphire crystal and Caliber 3075 movement, and introduced the quick-set function to the GMT line. These watches came fitted with a variety of dials, with the black “nipple” dials being amongst the most favored by collectors.
This gold GMT-Master is in nice good vintage condition. The case has been lightly polished, but retains thick and even lugs. The black nipple dial is in good condition, with no damage. Further, the original tritium lume is still present on the dial, aged to a nice cream color; the hands appear to have been replaced at some point in service. The watch comes fitted on its original Rolex Swiss Jubilee bracelet, will fit an approximate 7″ wrist (3 removable screws), and has light stretch.
