SOLD
Description
Offered here is a Jaeger LeCoultre Memovox, Ref. E853, circa 1960. This reference marked the world’s first automatic alarm wristwatch, powered by JLC’s Cal. 815 movement. Housed in a large, 37mm steel case, these watches combine modern sizing and functionality in a classic and groundbreaking vintage reference.
This JLC Memovox is in lovely condition. The case appears unpolished and sharp, and the original, and correctly unsigned crowns are still present. The dial has developed a striking and mesmerizing uniform patina throughout the dial, a truly unique specimen, aged to a golden yellow and caramel color.
The bracelet is an aftermarket stainless steel bracelet, and can be substituted for a leather strap upon request.
