Description
Charles Gigandet SA (better known as simply “Gigandet”) was a manufacture born in Tramelan, Switzerland. The company was formed in 1959 and primarily made movements and parts for other brands, such as Breitling and Wakmann.
This watch is one cool customer. It features a slate/charcoal grey racing dial, accented by various colors of red, white, and orange. It is fitted in a steel 37mm case, and the caseback has the Olympic logo and torch on the back. The connection to the Olympics is unknown. The watch itself is in great vintage condition, with a dead mint dial and sharp case. The hands have been relumed at some point in the past.
This is a rare watch, and we couldn’t find another example like it. These racing dials are extremely popular, most notably found on the Omega Speedmaster.
