Up for grabs is a very rare Elgin watch made for diving. This model was the last dive watch assembled at Elgin’s facility located in the state of Illinois. The watch is fitted in a 35mm steel case, and features a black rotating bezel, and a black glossy dial with large radium markers and numerals to help with underwater visibility. Further, the crown is protected by a removable “canteen” crown guard.
This rare Elgin Diver is in great condition. The case maintains its original finish, with no visible signs of polishing. The dial is in great condition, maintaining most of its original gloss. The original gloss is still present on the dial, aging to a lovely golden patina color, and the hands have been professionally recolored to match the patina on the dial.
