Description
Doxa is a storied watchmaker, going back to 1889. In the 1960s, Doxa rose to prominence with their line of diving watches, and often consulted with divers, including Jacques Cousteau, then chairman of the US Divers.
Prior to their run with diving watches, Doxa was well known for their dressier watches. The dress watch offered today is one such example. Housed in a massive (for the time) 38mm case, this watch is distinctive for its “FB” (designed by Franois Borgel) case, reminiscent of the case used by Patek Phillipe with their Ref. 565 watch.
This example is in stunning condition, with an absolutely mint dial and unpolished case. This watch wears extremely well on the wrist, and for the money, it is hard to find a nicer “dress” watch.
