Certina "Automatic DS" Diver

SOLD

Certina “Automatic DS” Diver

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a rare Certina DS Automatic Diver, reference 5801-113, circa 1960s.  The name Certina is derived from the Latin word “certus”, which means safe. The model name DS stands for “double safety”. These Certina DS divers have had a cult following for years, and have grown in popularity over the years, becoming hard to track down.  The watch itself is in nice vintage condition.  The case has likely been lightly polished in the past, but shows its original definition/beveled edges.  The dial shows no flaws or marks, and the original tritium lume remains present on both dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow color.  The original bezel shows even aging, and a nice fade setting in.
