Blancpain “Aqualung No Radiations” Diver

Description

Aqualung was a retail outlet for diving equipment, and was such a successful client and distributor of the original Blancpain Fifty Fathoms dive watches, Blancpain agreed to retail a watch under the Aqualung name.

The watches were produced in a variety of styles during the 1960s, including 3 different case sizes (34mm, 37mm and 41mm), and with or without the date function. This example is in 37mm and features the date function.

This Blancpain Aqualung “No Rad” is in amazing vintage condition. The case is unpolished, with original beveled edges still visible. The dial is very attractive, still completely glossy, with no flaws. Further, the original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a pumpkin orange color. The bakelite bezel is likewise in excellent condition, with no cracks, showing slight wear at the edge near 1 o’clock.
