Audemars Piguet “56175TR” Royal Oak

SOLD

Description

Up for grabs is a very rare Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, reference 56175TR, circa 1998.  This reference was made in a 33mm case and with AP’s Caliber 2612 quartz movement.  However, what makes this watch special is the combination of metals used in the production of the watch: tantalum and rose gold.  Tantalum is a more dense metal than steel, and is highly corrosive-resistant.  Due to its darker color (similar to titanium), it meshes very well with the tones of rose gold, giving the watch a very unique look.  This particular Audemars Piguet Royal Oak is in excellent vintage condition.  The case is sharp and unpolished, showing very careful wear/use over the years.  The dial is free of any flaws, and likewise, the original tritium lume remains present on both dial and hands, aged to a nice warm yellow color.  The bracelet shows no stretch, and appears fully linked.   Further, the watch comes with its original Certificate of Origin, dating the original sale to 1998 out of Texas.
