SOLD
Description
Offered here is an incredible example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6241, circa 1969, fitted with an exotic dial, nicknamed the “Paul Newman” Daytona, due to the fact that the famous actor favored wearing the Rolex Daytona with the exotic dial, and can be seen in many photographs wearing the watch. This example is outfitted with a tri-color reverse-panda dial and pump pushers, with a black, bakelite bezel.
The condition of this Daytona is excellent, one of the nicest we have had for sale. The case appears unpolished, with sharp edges. The dial is in beautiful condition, with no wear or scratches, extremely well-preserved. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, with extremely beautiful and puffy, yellow plots, and no visible loss whatsoever. Further, the original “MK1” bakelite bezel shows no wear or cracks.
The watch comes on a Rolex Swiss folded-link 7836/19 bracelet with 271 endlinks, and has 12 full links and almost no stretch, dated to 1971.
