Description
Offered here is an incredible example of a Rolex Submariner, featuring the date window at 3 o’clock, the Reference 1680. This Submariner dates to 1972, and is fitted with an “MK4” red Submariner dial. Further, this particular Rolex Submariner comes complete as a full-set, including its original Rolex box, double-“punched” Warranty Certificates (originally sold in Hong Kong in 1971), and its original sales receipt from 1971!
This Rolex Submariner is in excellent vintage condition. The case appears unpolished and sharp, with beveled egdes still prevalent. The dial is in excellent condition, with no flaws, chips, marks, etc. The tritium lume is original and present on both the dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow color. The original and period correct “fat font” bezel insert is in likewise good condition, with no minimal wear.
The watch comes fitted on a Rolex C&I Rivet bracelet, dated to 1973. The bracelet itself has 10 full links and light stretch.
