Description
Offered here is a rare IWC Aquatimer, circa 1960s, bearing the reference 812 AD. The “two crown” waterproof “EPSA” cases were first developed by Enicar in the early 1960s, and the cases were used by a variety of brands, including IWC. These watches were produced over three references with a few different dial variations, with this present all-black version being extremely popular. This IWC Aquatimer is in fantastic vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with normal wear through the years. The dial shows no visible flaws, and is well-preserved. Finally, the tritium luminous on the dial remains in-tact and aged to a nice yellow color; the hands have likely been relumed in the past. The watch remains on its original IWC beads-of-rice style steel bracelet, and is in excellent condition, fitting a large wrist.
