Rolex “6265 18kt Gold” Daytona

Offered here is a lovely example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6265, circa 1974, produced in 18kt Yellow Gold.  During this era, very few Daytonas were produced in gold, most being fitted in a steel case. In fact, allegedly less than 10% of the 24,000 of 6263 and 6265 watches for the 20 year period of their production run were made in gold.  This example is outfitted with a matching champagne dial.

The condition of this Daytona is great for its age. The case has been polished in the past, but shows thick and even lugs, remaining very sharp. The dial is in great condition, with virtually no wear or damage. The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, and in excellent condition, showing only very minor loss to the 5 o’clock plot, and in the hour hand. Further, the watch comes fitted on its original Rolex Swiss Rivet bracelet, with correct 71 endlinks, and has 13 full links. The bracelet was expertly restored, and shows no stretch.
