SOLD
Description
Stop what you are doing. This is a special one.
Memovox, short for “the voice of memory”, was rolled out by the illustrious Jaeger LeCoultre, or JLC for short, around 1950, adding the alarm function/complication to the everyday wristwatch. But you already knew all of that.
There are plenty of Memovox floating around for sale, but we promise you, you won’t find one quite like this. Reported to be only 5 or so in existence (EDIT: this obviously cannot be confirmed, but was discussed by JLC experts…if not 5, very few!), the “lapis lazuli” (so-named after the precious blue stone) Memovox is rarer than hen’s teeth. The last one offered publicly for sale was at auction in 2011. It is unlikely you will find another.
What else is there really to say? This one happens to be in pristine condition, all original, and unpolished. A collector’s dream. Someone really needs to buy it before we change our tune and stash this one away in one of our personal collections. Trust me, the thought has crossed our mind.
