Up for grabs is an exceptionally rare and oversized Universal Geneve Compax, circa mid-1940s, Ref. 22430. This watch is nicknamed the “Universalone”, and was designed for use by pilots. It goes without being said – this was one GIANT watch for the era. This example features a radium dial, with interestingly-placed lume dots throughout the center of the dial in order to tell time more legibly mid-flight.
This Universal Geneve Compax is in great vintage condition. The case appears unpolished, with light wear to the lugs, and their defined edges still visible. The dial shows light wear, consistent with age and use from a 1940s watch. The original radium lume is still present on the dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow.
