Description

Up for grabs is an exceptionally rare and oversized Universal Geneve Compax, circa mid-1940s, Ref. 22430.  This watch is nicknamed the “Universalone”, and was designed for use by pilots.  It goes without being said – this was one GIANT watch for the era.  This example features a radium dial, with interestingly-placed lume dots throughout the center of the dial in order to tell time more legibly mid-flight.

This Universal Geneve Compax is in great vintage condition.  The case is unpolished, with original beveled edges present.  The dial shows very light wear, consistent with age and use from a 1940s watch, and is overall superb.  The original radium lume is still present on the dial and hands, aged to a golden yellow.  The chronograph hand is a replacement.
