Up for grabs is an incredibly rare Ulysse Nardin chronograph, dubbed the “Ulysse Nardin Daytona”, as it draws comparisons to the popular Rolex Daytona in both appearance and mechanics. Bearing the reference “7536”, Ulysse Nardin made this watch in two executions, with some small differences amongst the two; this example is a “MK1” or first execution, stamped “7536-1” between the bottom lugs. This watch, made only with a reverse panda dial, is infinitely more rare than a Rolex Daytona, with only a handful of examples known to come to market. Fitted in a slightly larger 37mm steel case and powered by the same Valjoux 72 movement, this watch stands apart with its applied UN logo and beveled case, and more so, for its incredibly beautiful and decorated movement.
The present example is in excellent condition. The case shows very light polishing, with the original beveling still visible. The dial is in perfect condition, with no flaws. The original tritium lume is still present in both hands and dial, aged to a golden yellow color.
