Zenith Silver Chronograph

SOLD

Description

Zenith Silver Chronograph vintage is on the up-and-up as of late. The El Primero was probably the first ever automatic chronograph watch, and is considered by many to be one of the greatest chronographs of all time. Like many of the recent vintage-market trends, prices on the early series El Primero has been grown exponentially, and what was once considered “affordable vintage” is now anything but.

But, for those who know what to look for, it is easy to recognize that vintage Zenith is not comprised of a “one-man show”. Enter, the Zenith Ref. A271 with a Cal. 146 movement. The 146HP and 146DP movements were the last manual wind movements used by Zenith in a chronograph before the roll-out of the El Primero high beat movements in 1969. Often fitted with a sexy sunburst dial that shines right back at you, and straight lugs that add an extra to layer to how they sit on the wearer’s wrist, it’s no wonder these pieces are highly sought after by serious collectors.

The example offered here is in top condition, and fitted with an immaculate silver dial and blue hands that contrast the dial amazingly.

Oh, and Zenith Silver Chronograph comes with the original box and buckle!
