Universal Geneve Polerouter

SKU: e0c641195b27 Categories: ,

The Universal Geneve Polerouter was introduced in the 1950s to provide flight crews with automatic precision wrist-watches that were resistent against the strong magnetic field of the polar region while flying from Europe to the USA.

It was designed by the one and only, Gerald Genta. You know, the guy who designed the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the Patek Phillipe Nautilus, to name a few. Well, this was his first design.

The model before you today is a very early rendition of the Polerouter, housing a Cal. 183 “bumper” movement. They don’t come more mint than this – unpolished, immaculate dial, original hands, crown, and crystal. Oh, and the patina. Just look at the patina. We dare you to find a nicer example on the market. You can’t – trust me, we’ve tried. Own this iconic watch now, which happens to be of the most underrated watches on the market (but it won’t be for long).
