Rolex “Radial MK3” GMT-Master

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a beautiful example of a Reference 1675, Rolex “GMT-Master”, with an MK3 (third execution) dial, the so-called “radial” dial.  These dials are unique due to their placement of the lume plots further in the dial towards the hands, as opposed to the traditional layout, which has the plots placed near the hash marks around the edges of the dial.  The radial dial can only be found within a certain serial range, and is very uncommon. The serial of this GMT-Master is 51xxxxx, dating this watch to 1977.

The watch itself is in great vintage condition.  The case is unpolished, with thick and even lugs, and clearly defined bevels..  The dial is in great condition, but does have light dots on the dial, which is more common than not on the radial/MK3 dial configuration.  The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, aged to a gorgeous yellow color. The original “Pepsi” bezel insert is likewise in excellent condition.  The serial and reference numbers between the lugs are visible, but some corrosion is visible (again, very common for MK3 serial range GMTs).

The watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster flip-lock 93150/580 bracelet, with 11 full links and almost no stretch.  The bracelet can be substituted for a non-flip lock upon request.
