Up for grabs is an uncommon Rolex Day-Date, Ref. 18238, which was transitional from the Reference 18038, introducing the “double quick-set” function, which allows the owner to quickly adjust the day and date via the crown. This example dates to 1990, and is fitted with a rare “Lapis Lazuli” stone dial.
The condition of this Rolex Day-Date is great. The case has been polished in the past, but shows thick and even lugs. The Lapis stone dial is in near-perfect condition, with two very minimal cracks to the stone above the date window at 12 o’clock, a common occurrence/area where the stone is sensitive; it is very difficult to see without a loupe, and is not visible to the naked eye.
The watch comes on its original hidden-clasp 18kt Rolex Swiss bracelet, with no stretch, and will fit an approximate 7″ wrist (four removable screws).
