Offered here is a very nice “neo-vintage” Rolex Submariner, Ref. 16610, circa 1989. Deployed as the successor to Rolex’s Reference 168000 Submariner, the 16610 utilizes the Caliber 3135 movement, and a less corrosive steel for the case material. This Rolex Submariner comes complete as a super full-set, including its original Rolex box, Warranty Certificate, hangtag, anchor, booklets, etc. The watch itself is in excellent vintage condition. The case is unpolished and sharp, with perfectly beveled factory edges The dial is in perfect condition, with no chips, marks, or scratches. The original tritium lume is present on the dial and hands, aged to a nice yellow on the dial, and an off-white on the hands. The watch comes on a flip-lock 93150 bracelet with 501B endlinks and 10 full links and diver’s extension, and has almost no stretch.
Please Note: as this watch was originally sold in Brazil, the watch was sold with a non-chronometer hand-written Certificate. During this era, Brazil only sold watches with these certificates (as they were the only certificates allocated to them by Rolex), regardless of the watch’s chronometer rating, and all of the papers were handwritten.
