Rolex “Full-Set 16570” Explorer II

Description

Up for grabs is a lovely Rolex Explorer II, circa 1987, Reference 16570, with black tritium dial.  The reference 16550 is transitional from the original Explorer II, reference 1655, with an upgraded case (the first Explorer model with a sapphire crystal) and caliber 3085 movement).  This particular example comes complete, with its original Rolex box, Guarantee Certificate, and booklets (as shown).

This Rolex Explorer II is in great vintage condition.  The case has been lightly polished in the past, but has nice beveled edges and thick and even lugs.  The dial is immaculate, with no marks, scratches, or flaws.  Further, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to a nice cream color.  Lastly, the watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster 78790 bracelet with 501B endlinks, and has 10 full links with virtually no stretch.
