Rolex “6239 Paul Newman” Daytona

SOLD

Description

Offered here is a well-loved and honest example of Rolex Daytona, Ref. 6239, circa 1968, fitted with an exotic dial, nicknamed the “Paul Newman” Daytona, due to the fact that the famous actor favored wearing the Rolex Daytona with the exotic dial, and can be seen in many photographs wearing the watch.  This example is outfitted with a tri-color panda dial and pump pushers.

This Rolex “Paul Newman” Daytona is in very honest and original condition. The case appears unpolished with normal wear, and remaining with thick and even lugs. The dial shows honest aging and wear, with some blemishes/stains on the dial and some fading to the “Daytona” print.  The original tritium lume is still present on both dial and hands, with extremely beautiful and puffy, yellow plots, overall very well-preserved.

The watch comes on a Rolex Swiss folded-link 7835 bracelet with 271 endlinks, and dates to 1969; the bracelet has 13 full links with light stretch.

This is a unique opportunity to buy an “honest” Newman, at a huge discount to the price of a “perfect” or mint example.
