Rolex “16550” Explorer II

Description

Up for grabs is a lovely Rolex Explorer II, circa 1987, Reference 16550, with black tritium dial.  The reference 16550 is transitional from the original Explorer II, reference 1655, with an upgraded case (the first Explorer model with a sapphire crystal) and caliber 3085 movement).

This Rolex Explorer II is in great vintage condition.  The case has been polished in the past, but has nice beveled edges and thick and even lugs.  The dial is immaculate, with no marks, scratches, or flaws.  Further, the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, aged to an off-white color.  Lastly, the watch comes fitted on a Rolex Oyster 93150 bracelet with 593 endlinks, and has 10 full links with light stretch.
