Rolex “1603 Grey” Datejust

Description

Up for grabs is a stunning example of a Rolex Datejust, Ref. 1603, circa 1969. This Datejust features a fluted bezel, and a rare dark grey dial.  The condition of this Rolex Datejust is great. The case appears unpolished, with normal wear from use, and has a caseback engraving reading “I.L.Y. 47-72 Me”.  The dial is beautiful, with no wear; likewise the original tritium lume is present on both dial and hands, with no loss, and aged to a lovely yellow color.. The watch comes fitted on a Rolex USA Jubilee band, dated to 1971, and is in good condition fitting an approximate 7″ wrist, with some stretch, but overall well-preserved.
