Description
Offered here is an uncommon Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date, reference 1530, circa 1974. While sharing the same case as the Rolex Oysterquartz, this model was fitted with an automatic movement, with an estimated production of around 1,500 pieces. These watches were produced for a very short period, while Rolex awaited the completion of the development of their OysterQuartz Beta 21 movement. This Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date is in very nice vintage condition. The case has been polished in the past, but shows nice definition/bevels in the lugs, and is devoid of major wear. The dial is in great condition, with virtually no wear; likewise, the original tritium lume remains on both dial and hands, aged to an eggshell color with no loss. The watch remains on its original integrated Rolex 96660 bracelet, has 12 full links and minimal stretch.
