Heuer “Jo Siffert” Autavia

SOLD

Description

Offered here is an excellent example of a Heuer Autavia, nicknamed the “Jo Siffert”, as this model was worn by the famous race car driver in the 1970s.  This example is a “Mark 6”, the final execution made by Heuer with this color scheme. For more information on the Siffert Autavias, visit On The Dash by clicking here.

This Siffert Autavia has been exceptionally well preserved.  The case is unpolished, showing the original case sunburst finish, and beveled egdes.  The dial is flawless, with no marks, scratches, etc.  The original tritium lume is still present in both hands and dial, aging to a golden yellow, with only minor loss in the 9 and 12 o’clock plots.  The serial and reference numbers are cleary visible between the lugs (serial 24xxxx).  The watch comes fitted on its original Gay Freres bracelet, with correct HLF endlinks.
